🕉️ WHAT IS TANTRA?

Tantra is a vast and ancient spiritual path from India (with roots around 500–800 CE), aimed at realizing the divine through the body, breath, sexuality, sensation, energy, and everyday life..

🌀 CORE PRINCIPLES OF TANTRA

1. Non-Duality (Advaita)

There is no separation between spirit and matter, sacred and mundane. All is one. The divine is in everything—in pain, pleasure, birth, death, grief, sex, breath, silence.

2. Shiva & Shakti

The universe is a play of these two forces:

  • Shiva = pure, unchanging awareness

  • Shakti = living, breathing, sensual energy

Tantric practices aim to awaken their union within you—to bring consciousness into your energy and energy into your consciousness.

3. The Body is the Temple

Tantra sees the body not as an obstacle but as a portal. Pleasure is a pathway, not a distraction. Emotions are sacred messengers. Your body stores karma, trauma, power—and it also holds your liberation.

4. Ritual, Symbolism & Visualization

Mantra (sacred sound), yantra (sacred geometry), mudra (hand gestures), and mandalas are tools for activating subtle energies and connecting with deities/archetypes. These are not symbolic, they are experiential technologies.

5. Sexual Energy is Divine

In left-hand Tantric paths, sacred sexuality is a practice of deep union. But sexuality is just one small part of Tantra—it’s the gateway, not the goal. True Tantra transmutes desire into devotion.

🔥 KEY PRACTICES IN TANTRA

☁️ 1. Pranayama (Breathwork)

To balance the masculine/feminine energies (ida & pingala), and awaken the central channel (sushumna).

🐍 2. Kundalini Awakening

Kundalini is the coiled serpent energy at the base of the spine. Tantra offers practices to safely awaken and raise this energy through the chakras, leading to bliss and expanded consciousness.

🧿 3. Deity Sadhana

Invoking deities like Kali, Lalita, Shiva, and others—not as “gods out there,” but as forces within your psyche and energy field.

🧘 4. Meditation & Visualization

Especially from the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, which teaches techniques like:

  • Watching the moment between inhalation and exhalation.

  • Feeling the sensation of pleasure deeply.

  • Meditating on fear, grief, or orgasm as gateways to the divine.
